I would likely be doing youth work full time, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

I chose to pursue science after deciding not to be a full time musician. I still do lots of interesting music projects in my free time – I’m playing in the royal albert hall next week in an orchestra for example. So I’d probably have pursued that if science hadn’t got so interesting!
