I guess the best and the most enjoyable things include being able to travel as part of my work and see how people from other countries do science and work in the labs. Being able to go to India and Denmark to work were amazing experiences, and really demonstrated to me how global the scientific community is!
I would hope that my work will contribute to the improvement of chemical processes that are used to make important molecules such as drugs in the future. Science happens in small increments though, so even sometimes it may seem like something that is accomplished is small, that added up with lots of other bits of work from other scientists can really paint a big, and important, picture! But yes, it would be nice to do some work that was recognised with awards in the future I suppose!

I really loved working in Italy for 6 months researching chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. It was great living abroad and great learning a new language in my spare time whilst doing some exciting research. I believe my work will have a good impact on the world, as policy is all about making changes in day-to-day life.
