      I turned 26 earlier this year. It is pretty common to be about my age when completing your PhD. This is because you often have your undergraduate (first) degree from the ages of 18-22, and then your PhD takes between 3-5 years afterwards.

      26. It was my birthday on Wednesday. I had a pancake party!

      29 years young! It took me 9 years of University (Manchester then Leeds) to get my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees! And now I work at Manchester University doing research – my friends all tell me I need to get a real job!
