• Question: Do the government have a cure to cancer?

      There is no single cure for cancer as they are a number of diseases that are very complex and the treatment needed to cure one person with a type of cancer is different to what’s needed to cure another person with the same cancer. Government have a scheme to support new cancer drugs reaching patients and it’s called the NHS Cancer Drugs Fund.

    In addition to what Jennifer has said, I think if there was a secret cure to cancer it would have gotten out by now. The number of people working on cancer is huge and a lot of scientists have a personal connection to the disease they’re working on. Treating cancer is hard because of the many sub-types of the disease and the reality is that cancer continues to mutate and change as it grows so with our current methods we need to keep working on new drugs.
